About Us.
Whether you want to hit the trails on a bike, on foot or on cross country skis; the Wells Gray Outdoors Club has something for everyone. Come enjoy the great outdoors and explore the beautiful Candle Creek Trail network year round.
MOUNTAIN BIKING.
Explore endless single track trails from expert black trails which weave tight turns and berms with jumps and rock features to beginner friendly green tracks for the whole family to enjoy. There’s a trail for every rider.
HIKING.
With Clearwater sitting at the doorstep to Wells Gray Provincial Park, there are plenty of hiking trails to explore. The Wells Gray Outdoors Club organizes regular group hikes up in the park and throughout Clearwater. Be sure to check out the facebook page for more details.
NORDIC SKIING.
Most of the cross-country skiing trails are set with our state-of-the-art PistenBully 100 and large snowmobile. Giving you kilometers of beautifully groomed trails to explore for both nordic and skate skiing. Enjoy a nice warm drink at the warming hut when you finish your ski.
HORSE RIDING.
During the Summer months, the Candle Creek ski trails become the perfect horse riding trails. Being nice and close to the town of Clearwater you don’t have to travel far to enjoy scenic horse riding trails with views across the valley.
HALF MARATHON.
Home to the Candle Creek Half Marathon, the Wells Gray Outdoors Club brings runners from far and wide to test their endurance on a 5km, 10km, or half marathon trail run at this annual event. Go to our events page for more info.
SNOW SHOEING.
In the winter all of the mountain biking trails become the perfect opportunity to strap on your snow shoes and get out on the Candle Creek Trail network for some fun.
All non-members are welcome to use the trails. The $10 fee can be dropped off in our conveniently located box at the trail head.
Or become a member! For only $50 you get a mountain bike membership or for just a little more, you can buy an annual pass. Payments can be made by email transfer to: payments@wellsgrayoutdoorsclub.ca or via PayPal.
Meetings
Our monthly meetings are held at the Candle Creek cabin on the first Monday of each month starting at 7:00 pm. Please feel free to attend. Executive meetings are arranged as needed.
